‘Friend of the Single Mother Shelter in Łódź’ statuette for the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation
The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation has been awarded a ‘Friend of the Stanisława Leszczyńska Single Mother Shelter in Łódź’ statuette in recognition of the support it provides to those under the institution’s care.
Since 2010, the DOZ Foundation has provided financial support to single mothers at residential care facilities throughout Poland. One of its beneficiaries is the Stanisława Leszczyńska Single Mother Shelter in Łódź.
Having a regular and long-term nature, the support provided by the DOZ Foundation helps meet one of the main needs of young mothers and their children, namely access to medicines and medical products. In addition, volunteers working for the Foundation bring clothes, books and toys for the residents. All year round, thanks to cooperation with pharmaceutical companies, the facilities receive donations of vitamins, baby cereals and dressing materials. For many years, the DOZ Foundation has also supported the ‘Cereal for Baby’ campaign run by the Single Mother Shelter in Łódź. Additionally, funds raised through the ‘Caps to bags’ campaign are also partly used to aid the Łódź-based institution.
Since the launch of this dedicated project, the DOZ Foundation has already provided over PLN 1.2m to support residential care facilities for single mothers. The money helps them buy a supply of medicines, medical products and milk for the women and children.
The ‘Friend of the Single Mother Shelter in Łódź’ statuette was presented to the DOZ Foundation on June 26th 2017, during the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Stanisława Leszczyńska Single Mother Shelter in Łódź.
