Jacek Szwajcowski re-appointed President of Polish Business Roundtable
On June 1st 2017, Jacek Szwajcowski, President of Pelion S.A., was re-elected President of the Polish Business Roundtable (PBR) for another term.
The PBR’s General Meeting convened for that day unanimously re-appointed Jacek Szwajcowski as President of its Management Board for two more years. The decision shows the members’ appreciation for Jacek Szwajcowski’s effective and competent management of the PBR and for his consistent pursuit of the organisation’s mission. The General Meeting also resolved to appoint Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, Wojciech Kostrzewa, Arkadiusz Muś, Paweł Rymarz, Jacek Olechowski and Marian Owerko as Vice Presidents of the PBR Management Board for the new term.
Jacek Szwajcowski has been a member of the PBR since 2002, and its President since May 28th 2015. He is the founder and President of the Management Board of Pelion S.A., the largest Polish company in the healthcare sector, established 27 years ago. He also sits on the supervisory boards of many other companies, including Eurocash S.A. and Pharmena S.A. An active community member, Jacek Szwajcowski is part of a team of voluntary advisors to Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of Łódź, and the initiator of the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation and the Prof. Jan Muszyński Pharmacy Museum in Łódź. He is a leading Polish entrepreneur and an expert of long-established repute in the pharmaceutical sector. In June 2014, Bronisław Komorowski, the then President of Poland, awarded Mr Szwajcowski the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for his outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of Polish entrepreneurship and for his achievements in community work.
The Polish Business Roundtable was founded in 1992 to provide Polish entrepreneurs and employers with a platform to promote entrepreneurship, as a key factor in economic growth. The PBR is comprised of the owners and managers of Poland’s major businesses and international companies operating in Poland. This year, the organisation is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
