Magdalena Tomaszewska to lead Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna into the future
Magdalena Tomaszewska has been appointed CEO of Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna. The new CEO will lead further development of the company which is part of the Pelion Group and is one of the most modern and largest distributors of pharmaceuticals in Central Europe.
As President of the PGF Management Board, Ms Magdalena Tomaszewska will focus on further strengthening the company's position on the demanding and competitive healthcare market, and on effective implementation of a coherent and long-term growth strategy. Ms Tomaszewska will seek to ensure that the PGF brand is consistently synonymous with reliable and secure pharmaceutical distribution as well as the highest quality and comprehensive nature of the services provided to pharmacies and patients in Poland. She will work closely with all stakeholders on the Polish pharmaceutical market, i.e. pharmacies, manufacturers as well as industry and social organizations, in compliance with PGF’s overriding principles of trust and operational transparency.
Magdalena Tomaszewska graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical Academy in Warsaw, and completed an MBA programme at the International School of Management in Warsaw. Since the beginning of her career, Ms Tomaszewska has been associated with the pharmaceutical industry. She worked for the world's largest manufacturers, including Pfizer, Novartis, J&J and Ratiopharm. In 2010, she joined Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, where in recent years she served as President for Europe, Russia, South America and Asia, based in Prague and London.
Ms Tomaszewska comes with long-standing international experience in strategic and operational management in the pharmaceutical industry, and specializes in the optimization of business processes and resources, communication, and building cooperation networks.
The vast knowledge and experience of Ms Magdalena Tomaszewska, acquired at reputable pharmaceutical companies in Poland and abroad, will undoubtedly contribute to the achievement of the ambitious goals set for Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna. These competencies, coupled with Magdalena's pharmaceutical education, are of great importance for the understanding of pharmacies’ needs in the context of their current environment in Poland, for providing services of the highest quality, and for the joint efforts to support Polish patients, said Jacek Szwajcowski, Pelion’s CEO.
Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna is one of the most advanced and largest drug distributors in Central Europe. It works with nearly 700 suppliers and over 10 thousand pharmacies, and offers almost 19 thousand stock keeping units.
