14 best practices of Pelion companies recognised by the Responsible Business Forum in its latest report
On March 30th 2017, the Responsible Business Forum published its latest “Responsible Business in Poland. Best Practices” report. Among the recognized initiatives are 14 best practices followed by Pelion companies.
The reports released by the Responsible Business Forum each year provide the most comprehensive overview of CSR projects in Poland. Published on March 30th 2017, the 15th edition of the report describes practices followed in 2016 by 180 companies.
The following nine new practices applied by Pelion companies are recognised in the report:
- “Farmakoekonomika Szpitalna” (Journal of Hospital Pharmacoeconomics)
Published by PGF Urtica, the journal is one of the few specialist periodicals on the market dedicated to hospital pharmacy.
- Urtica Dzieciom Camp
Organised by PGF Urtica, these rehabilitation retreats for children affected by cancer and their parents combine psycho-oncological counselling with socialising, playing, and sightseeing.
- Business Academy
The Business Academy is a series of workshops organised by BSS S.A. and dedicated to business-related matters, including the fundamentals of finance, reporting, labour law, and controlling.
- Mikołaj’s Heart
A spontaneous charity initiative undertaken by DOZ S.A. employees to sponsor the heart surgery for six-month-old Mikołaj. Employees from most of Pelion companies joined the initiative.
- Charitable Heart
Pelion’s first socially responsible product, launched by DOZ S.A. Profit from the sale of heart-shaped medicine containers will be used to support the chartered activities of the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation.
- Charity Night on Saint Nicholas’ Day
Organised by the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation, DOZ S.A. and Pelion S.A., the Night is an annual event dedicated to women and children supported by Single Mother Shelters.
- Oncological Check-up
Part of the PULS Programme and carried out in partnership with the Brzeziny Specialist Hospital, this event is aimed at post-holiday check-up and removal of nevi.
- Car Free Day
On this day, our employees are encouraged to use alternative means of transport.
- Welcome Day
A meeting between newly recruited persons and their internship guides and the Management. The Welcome Day is part of a comprehensive induction of young talents into the company.
The jury also recognised Pelion’s five long-established practices:
- PULS Programme
The Programme is concerned with ensuring good health and well-being of Pelion employees. It provides comprehensive medical care and encourages a healthy lifestyle.
- Project “Blood”
Volunteer blood donations by Pelion employees support the company’s mission to promote health and longevity.
- Pay-roll
Employees can choose to round their payslip down and donate the change to the beneficiaries of the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation.
- DOZ Marathon Łódź
Run since 2011, this sports and social event is focused on promoting a healthy, active lifestyle and a modern approach to charity. DOZ has been the title sponsor of the marathon since its first edition.
- Global Dignity Day
Taking place in schools on the third Wednesday of October each year, this global event gives young people an opportunity to meet famous persons and talk to them about dignity and respect. Pelion and DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation volunteers have been involved in the organisation of the Global Dignity Day in Łódź since its beginning.
The recognition of more than a dozen of our best practices in the Responsible Business Forum’s report is another proof that Pelion companies operate in a responsible and sustainable manner while never losing sight of their stakeholders’ needs and expectations.
