Pelion as partner of 9th ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystems’ conference
Pelion, the largest domestic company in the Polish healthcare sector, became a partner of this year’s ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystems’ conference organised by Digital Economy Lab of the University of Warsaw (DELab) and EuroMed Research Business Institute.
This is the first edition of the conference to be held in Poland. Every year, the event attracts world-class professionals, scientists and entrepreneurs, bringing together business, research, and academia. The conference comprises three days of meetings, discussion panels, lectures and workshops relating to innovation and digital economy. It serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and experience between academia, business and public institutions, and an opportunity to establish relationships between Polish and foreign scientists.
This time Pelion became one of the partners to the ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Ecosystems’ conference.
The grand opening was held on September 15th. Ms Mariola Belina-Prażmowska, Vice President of the Management Board of Pelion S.A., took part in the ceremony, where she spoke about the key factors driving entrepreneurship.
We all know that success doesn’t just happen. It is a process that has to continue and depends on a number of factors. First of all, it relies on determination, self-confidence, and inspiration. It also needs to be supported by stable and predictable market and regulatory environment, as well as by the right team with high confidence, determination, and commitment. Business development requires going off the beaten track, overcoming fear of non-standard solutions, and – last but not least – watching carefully what is going on around us. Innovation starts with diversity and the opportunity to confront what seems different – said Ms Mariola Belina-Prażmowska.
Ms Belina-Prażmowska’s speech followed a film presenting Pelion as a modern, innovative company with established presence in all key areas of the healthcare market and a mission to promote long and quality life.
The conference was accompanied by the Polish Innovation Avenue (Aleja Polskich Innowacji) fair, where companies could demonstrate their innovative concepts and projects. Pelion also took part in the fair to present, among others, its Cogninet project designed to develop tools supporting everyday care for brain’s good condition and health. The guests could also try the test version of the Cognicare application for self-assessment of cognitive functions. In the near future, the application will be released for download.
Innovation is one of the pillars of Pelion’s development. In its daily operations, Pelion deploys innovative solutions to better meet its patients’ and clients’ needs. The company is engaged in educational activities, puts in place solutions tailored to the needs of various Patient groups, including vulnerable Patients, ensures easy and convenient drug ordering through website and mobile applications, operates the first drug insurance programme in Poland, maintains a number of healthcare portals (including www.doz.pl, the largest site of this type in Poland), develops the COGNINET programme for brain diagnostics and disease prevention, and conducts research into the application of an innovative particle 1-MNA in treatment of atherosclerosis and in dermocosmetology. Innovation at Pelion also means a safe and tight system for distribution of pharmaceuticals from Manufacturers to Patients involving automated warehouse systems and unique order picking lines.
