Monika Kamieńska takes seniors on ‘Retro-style journey’
On April 30th 2018, the Sukcesja shopping centre in Łódź played host to a second musical get together in a series of concerts for people aged 60+. This time, the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation invited over 90 seniors to attend a performance by Monika Kamieńska of the Łódź Song Theatre.
The audience had the opportunity to enjoy the greatest Polish hits of the 1950s and 1960s and songs from before the Second World War. The artist sang almost 20 songs including ‘Rudy Rydz’, originally performed by Maria Koterbska, ‘List do matki’ by Violetta Villas, ‘Szybki Bill’ by Katarzyna Sobczyk, and ‘Na pierwszy znak’ by Hanka Ordonówna. The concert was an exceptional opportunity to listen to new arrangements of popular old hits.
Admission to the event was free.
In addition to health conferences, musical events are part of the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation’s mission of helping older people.
The first concert held in February, entitled ‘Piosenka niejedno ma imię’ (‘A song goes by many names’), was performed by senior students from the Academy of Music in Łódź.
The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation was established in 2007 on the initiative of its founder, Pelion S.A. A year later, it was included in the list of public benefit organisations. The purpose of the Foundation is to help those in need, in particular by mitigating inequalities in access to healthcare and medication. The Foundation also engages in health, educational and charity activities. To date, its support has been received by the elderly, single mothers, families with many children, and persons suffering from chronic diseases. Since 2013, the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation has been a member of the Polish Donors’ Forum association.
