DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation announces the winners of its grant contest
The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation has awarded grants in the sixth edition of the ‘TOGETHER WE CAN ACCOMPLISH MORE’ grant contest. 49 NGOs received grants for annual projects to support sick people in financial distress.
The grants awarded in the sixth edition of the contest totalled PLN 1,951,500.00. The money will be used to purchase necessary drugs and pharmaceutical products for more than 10,600 people. The grant winners of this year’s edition of the contest held by the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation include foundations, charities, branches of Caritas Polska, and St. Brother Albert Aid Societies from across Poland.
They were brought together at an awards ceremony on February 21st 2018 at the Professor Jan Muszyński Pharmacy Museum of Łódź.
The ‘Together We Can Accomplish More’ grant contest is addressed to NGOs such as foundations, social service institutions, charities or other organisations active in the area of healthcare and welfare protection, which help people in need purchase pharmaceuticals and other medical products. Working together, the DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation and the grant winners provide relief to those most in need across Poland. As a result of the five previous editions of the contest, more than 110,000 beneficiaries received aid totalling approximately PLN 14m.
The DOZ Dbam o Zdrowie Foundation was established in 2007 on the initiative of Pelion, the founder, with a view to tackling the problem of barriers in access to pharmaceuticals. A year later, the Foundation was included in the list of public benefit organisations. It has been donating funds to the elderly, single mothers, families with many children and people suffering from chronic diseases. Since 2013, the Foundation has been a member of the Polish Donors Forum.
