The award of the ‘Best Healthcare Company 2017’ title to Pelion is not only a great honour, but also a responsibility and duty to work even harder, as it places the Company in a position of a trail blazer to set directions for others. For 27 years Pelion has been contributing to the development of the Polish healthcare market. We made a conscious business decision to operate in this industry, being absolutely convinced of its strategic importance for Poland’s growth and the future of us all.
The judging panel including Marek Tombarkiewicz, Deputy Health Minister, Irena Rej, President of the ‘Farmacja Polska’ Chamber of Commerce, and Jerzy Bochyński, President of Institute for Eastern Studies, which organises the Economic Forum in Krynica, recognised Pelion’s contribution to the development of a modern healthcare system in Poland, and its offering of premium quality services and innovative solutions for patients, pharmacies, hospitals and manufacturers.
Pelion was founded in 1990 on the initiative of Polish entrepreneurs and with Polish capital. Ever since, the company has been an important contributor to Poland’s economy, continually growing its business and being a byword for Polish success, which from the very beginning was built on domestic capital.
Pelion commenced its operations as a local pharmaceutical distributor. Today, through its subsidiaries, it manages Poland’s largest family of pharmacies, is a leader of the Polish market of drug supplies to hospitals, and ranks among the top three pharmaceutical distributors in Poland. Pelion owes its current position to clearly defined objectives, consistently implemented strategy, and a team of dedicated employees who work together in pursuit of the Company’s mission to promote a long and quality life.
